Another NLT Edition

Brent Kercheville

The He Is Sufficient blog has broken news about a NLT Reference Bible being released later this year. Here is the link to his post. I am very excited about this news and look forward to its release. I think this again shows that Crossway and Tyndale are working hard to release a number of different editions of their translations which will encourage more people to try them out. Having a variety of editions makes a difference concerning whether a person will purchase a translation or not. I think most people subconsciously consider, “If I don’t like the layout, I won’t try the version.” I think the layout of the edition strongly influences people’s purchasing decisions.

Hurray to Tyndale. Keep rolling out those new editions!

Don't forget to browse The Bible or Translations.

What caught my eye was that this edition would have an even larger set of cross-refs than the study bible had.

Brent, I so agree that having a variety of options will help a person decide which translation they use.  I guess that is true here in the west, not sure how that applies to the rest of the world.

Growing up I could not afford nice bibles, so I would buy hardbacks.  I was 28 years old when I bought my first genuine leather bible, it was the Believer’s study bible, NKJV.  Six years later I bought a thin-line version also genuine leather NKJV.
