Before buying a new Bible, I generally browse the concordance. Sadly, it’s very difficult to find one that includes 1Pet 3:22 under the Baptism topic.
Just too easy to understand, I suppose

Some of the best commentaries on the books of the Bible are written by “liberal” theologians. They do an great job of exegesis in books but their own personal beliefs often clash with the text. The same holds true with “conservative” theologians. Most are sincere in their beliefs but they often clash with the text. “We” are no different.

Joe made a valid point in that sometimes it boils down to money.

As was noted last week, and to paraphrase W. Curtis Porter, if God’s Son had said “He that believes and is baptized shall receive a Ford Mustang” no one would ever have any trouble understanding the intent and purpose of immersion.

As sad as it is to say, far less copies would be sold if baptism were included in such “what do to to be saved sections” don’t you think?
