Perfect Brent! I'm with you in that first and foremost I am a Christian. Everything else is meaningless. When I hear people say such things as I'm a Calvinist or I'm an Arminian, or I'm this or that, I'm reminded of how Paul must have felt when he wrote these words:

"What I am saying is this: each of you says, "I'm with Paul," or "I'm with Apollos," or "I'm with Cephas," or "I'm with Christ." Is Christ divided? Was it Paul who was crucified for you? Or were you baptized in Paul's name?" (1Co 1:12-13 HCSB)

One cannot be more than Christ. To add a label or some other name to His is the height of arrogance. People have come up to me and said: "I'm a Presbyterian, always will be a Presbyterian, and will die a Presbyterian!" And you can insert any other label in place of Presbyterian, such as Baptist or Episcopalian. . . and you get my meaning.

I'm sorry, to do so, is not only a sign of hauter, but a form of idolatry.
