Work
First Thessalonians 4:11 instructs us to work. Â That has been a very hard thing to do for me. Â I have suffered a massive head trauma (concussion) and I also have had a mystery illness that causes massive swelling especially in my legs. Â That hasn’t stopped me from trying and praying to God asking him to let me be able to work. Â I am blessed to have a family with the financial means to take care of me. Â The problem is: I want to work. Â The recovery road from my injury has been the most difficult thing to ever have happen to me. Â I know that I will probably never be able to to what I used to do at the speed that I used to do it, but incessant prayer along with an opportunity given to me by Brent has been a true blessing. Â Matthew 25:22 talks about the talents. Â It is a good lesson. God gives each of us various talents and expects us to use them. Â I am a horrible public speaker and song leader so I can’t often use my talents during the worship services. Â However, I have always been a good artist especially when it comes to landscaping. Â Brent gave me a big landscaping job to do on his property and gave me total freedom do the work however I so chose having never seen my work. Â That is taking a huge risk on an unknown. Â God blessed me with good health to do the task I was given. Â As a Christian should, I did the best job I could and I am very happy with how it turned out. Â I just wanted to thank God for blessing me with a period of good health, and Brent for giving me the opportunity to show what I can do. Â Others have since shown interest in my work and I’d love to start my own business again. Â I realize that doing so would be the greatest challenge I have ever faced, but with God on our side, anything is possible. Â My accomplishments with God’s help in the last week have been a real confidence booster for me.
The main reason for this post is to thank Brent. Â He dedicates his life to helping others and people like that are a true rarity in today’s society. Â It was an honor to return the favor.
